THE TRANSCRIPTION DISCS

JUAN ROLANDO / KORLA PANDIT

During the 1940's Korla Pandit (both as Korla Pandit and as Juan Rolando) recorded transcription discs for Capitol records. These discs were 16 inch in size and were used to promote music and artists around America. The discs were licensed to radio stations which would play the music on air. Listed here are the transcription discs by Korla Pandit and Juan Rolando. These discs feature unique recordings. Usually the discs have no title, but are identified by a catalogue number. They played at 33 rpm and played from the inside out, rather than from the outside inwards. Transcription discs are very rare, but not very valuable, as very few people still have the equipment necessary to play these discs. The Capitol listing on these pages is complete.
